    Development Support

The EKWT11 & EKWT12 kits provide an complete evaluation and development solution for customers wishing to use Bluegiga's Bluetooth modules.

With two boards supplied, these kits the user is able to create an end-to-end Bluetooth link and evaluate the full range of iWRAP commands.

It is possible evaluate all of the input-output interfaces, including audio with on-board Codec and interface jacks.

Each included evaluation board also is equipped with RS2332 serial interface and SPI interface.

A USB interface is also included to enable evaluation of the HCI-level interface, which can be enabled using the supplied On-Board-Installation Tool and software.

Kits are supplied with RS232 cable and a UK compatible PSU unit, so evaluation can take place straight out of the box.

    iWRAP Software

The WT11 & WT12 modules are equipped, as standard, with powerful and easy-to-use iWRAP firmware.

iWRAP enables users to access Bluetooth functionality with simple ASCII commands delivered to the module over the serial interface - it's just like a Bluetooth modem.

iWRAP software provides you with several implementation options:
    • iWRAP can be configured to operate autonomously without a host micro-controller - just like a Bluetooth cable replacer
    • A host system can be used to control iWRAP by using ASCII commands
    • The GPIO interface on the WT1x module can be used to connect host and iWRAP
Besides the iWRAP firmware, Bluegiga also offers several other firmware options for the modules.

Host Command Interface (HCI) firmware can be specified when ordering. This is an ideal solution for systems where the host system is able to run the entire Bluetooth® stack and profiles. In this case the WT11 & WT12 are used as low power radio over a UART or USB interface.

2001 and Bluegiga can also provide custom firmware services, eliminating the need for customers to perform firmware or parameter installation on production line, significantly reducing the production cost, time and complexity.

For a complete guide to the iWRAP commands s/w interface for WT11 & WT12, please see the iWRAP User Guide
